Getting Hitched - #1210

fair

The horse pull at the county fair was an event of strength and quickness displayed by a pair of mighty draft horses hooked to a stone-boat upon which weight is added is an old county fair must.   "Getting Hitched" to the stone-boat was a clue and sent the horses into a frenzy.  Eight hoofs dug in and an all out effort was made to pull the weighted boat a distance of 27'-6".

Weights were added until just one of the teams entered in the contest could make the pull and that made for a champion.  Another proud owner was able to brag for a year.

Original watercolor by PaPa Giz, part of a series of eight from the County Fair - 14"x10" - #1210 - SOLD - Prints will also be available.
