Killdeer and Dump Hay Rake - #0408

The 'nervous' killdeer is very common in the fields and pastures in rural country. Approach a nesting bird, or one with chicks, and the bird will fake injury, a broken wing, trying to lead you away from its offspring. It gets its name from a repeated 'killdeer-killdeer' call. The dump hay rake collected cut grasses, which it dumped into long rows to make loading onto wagons an easier process.
