Barn Swallow and Mower - #0411

The barn swallow, common near farms, is known for its mud nest tucked under the eaves of buildings. The swooping flight around one's head was tolerated because of the many insects this bird would capture in a day. The mower pulled by horse or ox replaced the hand swung scythe and intensive manual labor.
